Our journey started back in university, where we discovered not only a shared passion for image-making, but also a deep connection to the emotions and stories that weddings hold. Since the beginning, we’ve always believed that wedding photography and filmmaking should feel honest, natural, and deeply personal. More than simply documenting a day, we want to preserve memories in a way that allows couples to truly relive them for years to come.
Alongside us is a team that shares the very same vision and values. MEET US
Behind Better Together
Sara leads the photography side of Better Together and is also the person behind every email and message, so chances are she’ll be the first person you speak with.
A book lover with a nostalgic soul, she often finds herself revisiting her parents’ photo albums. Perhaps that is why she photographs every story with the future in mind, paying attention to the small details that allow memories to live on through the years. She also loves watching film adaptations of her favourite books.
Outside of photography, Sara loves spending time with her family and coming up with new activities for her son, Tomás. Some of her favourite memories come from travelling around Portugal in a motorhome, discovering new places together at their own pace. Summer will always be her favourite season, especially the long days and warm, golden evenings. And there is probably no point trying to convince her that Guimarães is not the most beautiful city in Portugal.
João is responsible for the video department and the cinematic side of our work. Passionate about motorcycles, music and a good caramel macchiato, he finds inspiration in simple moments and is always searching for the perfect soundtrack to bring every story to life.
He particularly enjoys motorcycle trips through the Douro with his wife, where the journey is just as important as finding a good restaurant along the way. Travelling is one of his greatest passions and a constant source of inspiration. It also gave a name to Bali, his much-loved dog, in memory of a particularly special trip. João considers himself a specialist in Italian food, although mostly when it comes to eating it.
Together, we create images that feel like memories: honest, timeless and full of life.
